This section brings together information and advice for employers.

It includes a discussion – called the “business case” – of why it is in organisations’ own interests to employ disabled people; information on grants and benefits available  to assist in the employment of disabled people; information and advice on the “reasonable adjustments” which may help in treating disabled people fairly; and advice on recruitment and retention.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has publishe  comprehensive factsheets about Disability and employment guide,   suggesting good employment practices, and looking at the different types of discrimination.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has published A vocational rehabilitation guide, that is helping people with long-term or developing health problem to remain in, or return to their work.
